The days of abundant summer vegetables are sadly coming to a close. It is always a bittersweet moment for us. We look forward to the slowing down, but immediately begin to mourn the loss of the flavors of summer and the ease of which we can cook our dinners right out of the garden.
But...as one growing season ends, another already begins. It's sometimes weird to think we are already planning next years gardens, but that is exactly what we are doing! Now is the perfect time to make lots of lists and plans with this years successes and failures fresh in our minds. Decisions made based on what worked and what didn't. Asking ourselves if we are going to plant more of this particular variety or never again? Where is the cut flower garden going next year? Did this new mulching method work and is it worth investing in more? So many questions and problem solving at work.
Even though the exhaustion of the season is deep in our bones, the excitement for next year begins to build... and that is one of the things we love most about farming!
We will be saying this again and again, but we couldn't be more grateful for YOU, our amazing customers! To say this year was challenging is an understatement, but you carried us through. We can not thank you enough for sticking with us and for all of your continued support.
So Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
There are many things we liked about our new online selling method (and we hope you did too!), but the one thing we know we missed the most was seeing everyone's smiling faces and having wonderful conversations at the Farmer's Market. We hope to be able to enjoy that again soon!
As for this week and future weeks, we will continue to be selling eggs through our online store all winter long. We also have a few tomatoes, zucchini, and cauliflower available. Not sure what next week will look like but we will continue to update you if/when we have other goodies to offer!
Sincerely,
The Lenius Family
